Safety & Live Guardian
Live Guardian is a co-pilot, not an autopilot. It watches your GPS against the cleared route and the hazard database, then speaks up if something needs your attention.
What it does
- Off-route detection (perpendicular distance to your chosen polyline).
- 5 km forward lookahead for hazards within a 250 m corridor.
- Voice alerts in Australian English; full-screen takeover for confirmed hazard-ahead events.
- Local trip log (default 90 days) for your own records.
What it cannot do
- Run while your phone screen is off — Android/iOS browsers suspend GPS.
- Replace a pilot, escort, permit, or your own eyes.
- See hazards that are not in the dataset (new construction, temporary closures, fresh damage).
- Detect dimensional changes to your load mid-trip.
Use it safely
- Mount the phone in a dash cradle before starting Guardian.
- Don't touch the screen while moving. Pull over.
- Acknowledge alerts only when safe. The full-screen takeover waits for you.
- Report new hazards so other drivers benefit (coming in Phase 2).
By starting Live Guardian you accept that OverGuardian is advisory only and that you remain fully responsible for the safe and legal movement of the vehicle. See the Terms of Use.
